Jazz is diversity.
Jazz is communication.
Jazz is cooperation…

…and the time to celebrate music, praise its expansiveness and infiniteness, the time to meet friends and voice the thoughts that are much easier said than done. Carefully listening to luminaries such as Pharoah Sanders and Charlie Haden, the ‘best kept secrets’ Zim Ngqawana and Manu Katche, discovering new stars such as The Core and The Bad Plus, being overwhelmed by world music exponents Dhafer Youssef and Roberto Fonseca, as well as immersed in the whirlpools of Slovene creativity, represented by Vasko Atansovski and Kaja Draksler; within a few summer nights jazz will inevitably yield all of the above, put forth alternative views and provide abundant inspiration until next year. And then the time comes yet again to revel in music.
