51st LJUBLJANA JAZZ FESTIVAL

The 51st Ljubljana Jazz Festival has been handed over the baton of the jubilee festival. The main festival venue, Križanke open-air theatre, and CD Club will feature daylight as well as midnight musical and culinary treats. We will Burn the Midnight Oil at Klub Gromka at Metelkova.

The artists who will launch the next 50 years will put a smile on your face. Some groups will  appear in Ljubljana for the first time, while others are returning to the city which has grown on them. Some of the most resounding names are: The Pat Metheny Group (USA), Chucho Valdés & Afro-Cuban Messengers (Cuba), Kip Hanrahan & Beautiful Scars (USA), Mulatu Astatke & The Heliocentrics (Ethiopia, GB) and Joe Lovano & Big Band RTV Slovenia, conductor: Michael Abene (USA, Slovenia) and Patricia Barber (USA).

These jazzmen, as well as the fervent jazz enthusiasts, will turn Ljubljana into a five-day jazz capital.
