Hélène Labarrière Quartet

On the last day of the Ljubljana Jazz Festival, the CD Club first hosted a free jazz ensemble, the Hélène Labarriere Quartet, which hovered between variegated, conflicting, at times even juxtaposed emotions. For the most part the charismatic bass player played repetitive, slowly evolving patterns, while the band accompanied her with very intensive sonic texture modulations, which especially the guitarist and drummer tinged with diverse effects, from flat objects, tucked under the strings to various springs and bells.
